The Right to Food Team engages in a wide range of activities to promote and protect the right to food across different sectors and levels.

Areas of work

The team raises awareness about the right to food and its violations in various contexts. It disseminates information and actively reach out to the general public to foster greater understanding and recognition of this universal right.

Through e-learning courses and trainings, the team helps enhance the knowledge and skills of stakeholders on issues related to the right to food. It also provides technical assistance to governments, civil society organizations, donors, institutions, United Nations bodies, and other key stakeholders.

Collaborating with partners such as parliamentary fronts, Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, the Special Rapporteur on the right to food, the Committee on World Food Security and the Civil Society and Indigenous Peoples’ Mechanism, the team advocates for the integration of the right to food in policies and programmes. It develops tools for monitoring and including the right to food in projects at various levels, working alongside a broad coalition of human rights organizations and institutions.
