Partnerships

FAO Library is involved in various partnerships linking 269 agricultural libraries located in more than 100 countries. These partnerships enhance global access to regional information resources in food and agriculture.

This voluntary interlibrary network of agricultural libraries around the world was founded in 1971 within the framework of the International Association of Agriculture Librarians and Documentalists (IAALD). AGLINET Centers provide partner libraries with access to literature originating in the region or for a given specialization.

This network has been serving the needs of the academic, research and practitioner communities since 1947. Today over 200 libraries in more than 100 countries have been designated as a FAO Depository Library. These libraries  make a vital contribution to FAO’s goal of maximizing access to its information and advancing knowledge in the Organization’s fields of expertise.
