New regional programme sets out to boost ecosystem restoration

The Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity and FAO announced a new regional capacity development support programme aimed at accelerating ecosystem restoration efforts in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Published in the Journal of Forest Business Research, this research paper found that forest restoration in low- and middle-income countries faces significant investment challenges, as only a limited portion of degraded forestland meets conditions for private investment. To scale up restoration, strong public-sector support and targeted policy interventions are needed to improve investment conditions.
